STOEFFLER CONSULTING was founded in 2009 by Dr. Albrecht Stöffler. He graduated at the University of Heidelberg as an M.D. with a thesis on anorexia nervosa. He is alumnus of ECPM and member of ECNP, ISTAART, and GESENT and the focus of his scientific activity is on neuro-degenerative disorders, specifically Alzheimer's disease and vascular dementia.
As a board-certified neurologist and psychiatrist with a training in psychotherapy, he worked in a variety of clinical settings from neurological intensive care units to outpatient psychotherapy.
In 1997 he joined the pharmaceutical industry and, until 2006, was Director of Clinical Research & Development CNS at Merz Pharmaceuticals, Frankfurt/Main (Germany). He was responsible for all clinical development programs in the indication areas of neurology and psychiatry, achieved both EU- and nationwide approvals and consulted in licensing applications at the FDA and in Japan.
Until March 2009 he was with Astra-Zeneca in Södertälje (Sweden) as Disease Area Medical Leader for Neurology. The focus here was on Translational Medicine and in-licensing evaluations.
